The Role

The Bilingual HR & Safety Generalist is responsible for supporting a variety of Human Resource and Safety functions in collaboration with onsite healthcare management. This role reports to Director, HR People & Culture and provides multi-site support to our healthcare operations leadership and other stakeholders in a variety of areas including, but not limited to day-to-day HR support, employee relations, safety, workers compensation, and injury response. This position facilitates and communicates organizational policies, programs, and ensures labor law and regulatory compliance are being adhered to. 

What You Will Do

Human Resources: 

  • Partners with senior leadership/management to interpret, define, communicate, and implement various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations. 
  • Provides Human Resources guidance (coaching, counseling, performance improvement, and disciplinary actions) to onsite leadership.  
  • Serves as a Human Resources point of contact with employees, including assisting with benefit and other policy questions. 
  • Establishes rapport with employee and onsite leadership through collaborative walkthroughs and meaningful interactions with staff at all levels.  
  • Identify safety-related issues using trends and employee feedback, recommending targeted initiatives that improve safety compliance, reduce incidents, and promote a safe and productive work environment. 
  • Investigates, and resolves conflict resolution issues, ethics complaints and other employee relations issues, in collaboration with the HR Business Partner. 
  • Along with HR Business Partner, conducts exit interviews and analyzes data, making recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement. 
  • Assists with unemployment claims responses and attends unemployment appeal hearings. 
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned. 

Safety:

  • Conduct scheduled safety audits, risk assessments, inspections, and meetings to determine the effectiveness of accident prevention activities, and to ensure branch and job site compliance with all applicable safety directives.
  • Continuously conduct behavior-based safety observations and train other employees and managers to ensure that safety and operations integrity is demonstrated every day.
  • Review and evaluate the effectiveness of existing training programs and materials and provide recommendations to improve quality and execution.
  • Responsible for leading all site safety investigative reviews and developing cause maps to address the root cause of the incidents and ensuring that action plans are developed as needed and that timelines goals are accomplished.
  • Coordinate and monitor the site-based safety committees and other safety-related support groups.
  • Manage the site safety incentive programs established for the site.

What It Takes To Be Successful

  • 5+ years of Human Resources Generalist experience in a healthcare environment a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field, preferred but not required. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English & Spanish required. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, strong customer-service orientation, and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and with a wide range of clients, individually and in groups. 
  • Ability to travel between multiple local sites as scheduled may include 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts assignments, including weekends, based on business needs.
  • Ability to use discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential information from both the client and Servicon. 
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. 
  • Ability to handle multiple projects both collectively and independently in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Knowledgeable of laws/regulations relating to Human Resources in California 
  • Clearance: Ability to clear required healthcare vaccinations, Live Scan, as required

Environment

Working environment is within the healthcare industry.  Hospital and clinic settings.  You will be interacting with employees throughout the job sites. May require long periods of walking, standing, sitting, climbing, bending, reaching, stretching, leaning, stooping, and crawling, ability to lift up to 40 pounds, may require frequent travel to company job sites, the corporate office, Carson Warehouse or other locations for meetings or projects.

Pay Range and Compensation Package

A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range for this position is $80,000-$90,000k. Actual compensation offered may vary depending on skill level, experience, and/or education. You will also be eligible for annual cash bonuses based upon performance and other factors.
