As the Manager of Environmental Services (EVS) in healthcare, you will lead and inspire a dynamic team of both exempt and non-exempt staff, playing a pivotal role in shaping the quality of care at one or more high-volume, complex healthcare sites. As the primary point of contact for Servicon’s client(s) at these sites, you will be responsible for delivering best-in-class EVS outcomes, ensuring a clean, safe, and healthy environment for patients, families, and clinical teams. Your leadership will directly impact the patient experience, support clinical teams, and drive exceptional outcomes for families, staff, and clients alike. This role combines strategic and operational leadership, where you will develop and implement initiatives that not only meet but exceed performance goals, positioning your team and the organization for continued success.

The Role

As the Manager of Environmental Services (EVS) in healthcare, you will lead and inspire a dynamic team of both exempt and non-exempt staff, playing a pivotal role in shaping the quality of care at one or more high-volume, complex healthcare sites. As the primary point of contact for Servicon’s client(s) at these sites, you will be responsible for delivering best-in-class EVS outcomes, ensuring a clean, safe, and healthy environment for patients, families, and clinical teams. Your leadership will directly impact the patient experience, support clinical teams, and drive exceptional outcomes for families, staff, and clients alike. WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Plans, directs, leads, and coordinates the organizational, technical, and administrative functions in all EVS areas at healthcare client site(s)
  • Leads the EVS department, overseeing all Servicon EVS systems/processes/programs.
  • Monitors operational programs, assuring that site(s) are maintained as safe and clean.
  • Assures that the EVS department follows techniques that drive results, both for the EVS team as well as client and Servicon leadership. This includes Quality Improvement, EVS tech training for optimal results, Infection Prevention products and techniques based on client requirements, and management of labor productivity, client budget, KPI and Goal tracking, and budget adherence.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of latest environmental trends, products, and regulatory requirements necessary to deliver efficient and effective EVS results.
  • Ensures EVS is delivered to healthcare client and completed to contractual specifications. When needed, is the point of escalation for questions/concerns.
  • Recruits for site managers/asst dirs., including requisition, interviewing, and selection. Once selected, responsible for orienting, training, and developing these new leaders
  • Models and ensures safety standards and behaviors.
  • Leads, trains, and mentor’s supervisors and managers effectively for growth.
  • Identifies and implements best practices: innovative ideas to improve service and efficiency.
  • Builds interdepartmental leader relationships centered on executing agreed upon strategy within the hospital.
  • Other duties and as assigned.

What It Takes to be Successful

  • Minimum of four (4) years’ relevant managerial experience in Facility Services or a related field.
  • Strong commitment to high-level service and quality standards
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, motivate, develop and lead a team
  • Willingness to work a variable work schedule—to include, day shifts, evening, and night shifts
  • Efficient computer knowledge, proficiency in utilizing all Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience working with union contracts is preferred
  • Ability to obtain security clearance
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
  • A criminal background check, results of which are not necessarily a bar to employment and drug screen are required.
  •           Must possess AND maintain a valid driver's license, and a driving record that aligns with company standards.

  • AA or bachelor’s degree, or equivalent in Healthcare EVS experience and leadership.
  • May require travel at this level.
